Job Title: Program Manager - Tribal Construction Projects
Location: Oklahoma and Arizona
Travel: Required, approximately twice per month
Position Summary (Salary Range $120K – 150K BOE):
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee and manage our tribal CM/GC projects in Oklahoma and Arizona. This role will require a dedicated leader knowledgeable about implementing alternative delivery methods, a background in construction project management and a deep commitment to fostering relationships with the contractor, designers, and the tribes. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of project management experience in the civil infrastructure industry, a solid understanding of compliance and cultural sensitivity in tribal projects, and the ability to schedule complex project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Plan, initiate, and oversee all phases of assigned tribal construction projects, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with tribal representatives, local authorities, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain transparent and effective communication.
- Budget and Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resources to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure projects adhere to industry standards, legal requirements, and tribal regulations, and implement quality control procedures throughout project lifecycles.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks that could impact project outcomes.
- Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular project updates, reports, and documentation to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated).
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the construction industry, with preference for candidates with tribal or public sector project experience.
- Proficiency with scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred, but Microsoft Project is acceptable).
- Proven track record in managing construction projects from planning through to successful completion.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, risk assessment, budgeting, and resource management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and work environments.
- Ability to travel at least once per month to various project sites.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of federal and tribal contracting regulations and compliance requirements.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Construction Management (e.g., CCM).
- Familiarity with scheduling software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Experience developing risk registers and facilitating risk workshops.
